Credentials

I started piano lessons at age 8, studying with a distinguished pianist, educator, and composer, Alice Davis Berryman for 9 years.  I continued my studies in music where I received a Bachelor Degree in Music Performance from the University of Nebraska at Omaha, and studied with pianist, Clarke Mullen.   I took a graduate music course at the University of Nebraska at Omaha from Doctor James Johnson in Piano Literature, which covered piano music from the Baroque to Modern Period.  Through the many years of affiliation with music organizations, I continue to attend music workshops, State and National Conventions, and music programs.

I am honored to be affiliated and a music teacher in good standing with the Nebraska Music Teachers Association (NMTA) and Music Teachers National Association (MTNA).

I earned my teacher certification in piano, and the Music Teachers National Association (MTNA) recognizes me as a Nationally Certified Teacher of Music (NCTM).  I have over 30 years of private teaching experience.  I accompany students, perform in recitals, adjudicate in the Omaha and Iowa area, and help with the music ministry in my church.

I maintain an active role in professional organizations. I was an active member of the Private Music Instructor (PMI), and served as President, Vice President, Treasurer, and Secretary.   Currently, I am serving as Treasurer of Omaha Music Teachers Association (OMTA).  I have served as Treasurer for fourteen years.   I am affiliated with NFMC and served as Past President, Second Vice-President, and Collegiate Audition Chairman for NFMC.  I am currently Custodian of Insignia for NFMC.

I am actively involved with these music organizations, because they help to foster the aspiring music students.
